Steve Dix is the Senior Vice President,
General Counsel and Security for Technicolor Enterprise Services,
formerly known as Convergent Media Systems. Steve joined
Convergent in June of 1999 and manages the company's legal
affairs and its corporate governance records.
Steve's strong legal background combined with his extensive
knowledge of the industry has made him a key advisor to the Company's
executives in structuring and moving forward with transactions
such as the Company's acquisition of the land and building for
its headquarters in Alpharetta, Georgia, and the acquisition
of the Company by Thomson Inc. He has played a key role in the
formation of the Company's Digital Signage business offering,
and in establishing long term agreements with customers such
as Channel One and FedEx and vendors such as Sony, Scientific
Atlanta, and Arel. Steve has also been instrumental in setting
up new contracts systems and new forms of agreement for the Company's
products and services, in facilitating management of the Company's
intellectual property, and in advising Human Recourses on legal
issues.
Prior to joining Convergent, Steve served for 15 years in the
Legal Department of Amdahl Corporation, a large systems computing
solutions provider. During his career at Amdahl, he held the
Chief Counsel positions for its Telecommunications Division,
its C.E. Services Subsidiary, and its North American Operations.
He was instrumental in establishing several strategic relationships
with vendors and customers, and he provided key legal support
during the development of Amdahl's TDMFTM software including
establishing the first distributor agreement for the product.
Before joining Amdahl, Steve was in private practice in Houston,
Texas and an associate with the Houston law firm of Schechter
and Shelton, Inc. He began his legal career serving as a Lieutenant
in the U.S. Navy's Judge Advocate General's Corps.
Steve received his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas at
Austin, School of Law. In addition to his J.D., Steve holds a B.S.
in Economics from the University of Houston, and an M.B.A. from
the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. He
is a member of the State Bars of Texas, California, and Georgia.
